Hello again!
This week I'd like to talk about how to get your children to speak English at home.
Children will
NOT speak English at home if parents do not speak it.
This is a very daunting task, but it can be done. Start simply by using commands at home. The most important thing is that children understand what it is you want them to do.
Slowly introduce more expressions and make sure to use them at roughly the same time or at the same period of the day.
For example, right before dinner🍽️, you can say, "
Time for dinner. Go wash your hands please."
Or before bedtime😴, you can say, "
Time for bed. Go brush your teeth."
Using simple expressions like this will encourage your children to eventually respond and hopefully in English.
